Joyful B's Luncheon

On August 27, 2018 at 12 noon, the Joyful B's will be gathering at Sally Rigg's summer home,  15 Ridge Lane, East Berne, NY  12059 for lunch.

Sandwiches, beverages, and paper products will be provided.

If you would like to bring a desert (or salad) that would be wonderful.

Please let Barbara Emerson 518-376-9167 know by August 13, if you are going to attend.  All women of St. Boniface are invited.

Summer Services

During July and August, services continue as usual at the church. The Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Sundays at 8 AM and 10 AM. At the ten o’clock service there will be music although the choir is taking a well-deserved break until the Fall. On Wednesdays the service begins at 12:05 PM and includes Sacramental Healing.

There will be summer Sunday school during the ten o’clock service and coffee hour following it.  A sign-up sheet for coffee hour hosts is posted in the back of the church. Hosts need only bring a light snack or sweet - cheese and crackers, cookie or fruit.  Drinks and paper goods are provided by the coffee hour fund.

Building and Grounds

The second bathroom at the back of the church needs only a finishing touch or two before being officially re-opened.  It was re-done to be handicap accessible and is much brighter and more welcoming.  Jack Fairbank and his crew of willing workers will now be re-doing the bathrooms on the lower and upper floors.

After consultation with Father Strickland, the diocesan lawyer, Bill Bouteiller, Esq. prepared contracts for the parish saying we consent to the Diocese signing the necessary contracts which allow the town of Guilderland and the contractor to build a sidewalk along Route 20 in front of the church. As part of the contract, the Town will maintain the sidewalk after its completion. After a unanimous vote by the vestry Father Steve and the clerk of the vestry, Barbara Emerson, signed the documents which will be delivered to the Diocese.  The diocese holds actual title to the property and therefore must sign-off on the contracts.

Future Changes?

The next major project that is being considered is re-doing the north wall of the church which overlooks the churchyard.  The four sliding glass doors are old and energy in-efficient and there may be water or damage to some areas of the wall. Jack Fairbank will be getting estimates from contractor’s on various solutions.
